SACRED HAPEH HEALING CIRCLE

Welcome to this journey through the senses sharing the space, meeting your soul and heart, with a Shamanic Medicine, Conscious Breathing and a more.

Hapé is a cleansing powdered blend of sacred mapacho tobacco from the Amazonian jungle, mixed with various plants and herbs depending on the tribe that creates it. Sacred tobacco is used for the purposes of prayer, and also helps with purification, and cleansing of our physical and energetic body.
Hapé is traditionally served through a pipe called a Tepi, usually made from wood or animal bone, and ceremonially blown through each nostril.
Depending upon the blend, Hapé has a variety of cleansing benefits from the physical cleansing of the sinuses and impurities in the body, to the spiritual cleansing of our energetic field. It can purify our mind’s eye that can become blocked to our inner vision. A shamanic understanding of disease is that all sickness is spiritual sickness, and if we can heal the spiritual root of disease, its physical manifestation will also heal.

Why is this?

Due to certain active ingredients that help release ‘feel good’ emotions, rapeh is considered a heart opener. Creating feelings of emotional intimacy and cleansing,

Cleansing

The Medicine is used to cleanse, to go to the root of the problem.  It can be also used as a purgative to cleanse stuck energies

South-American shamans use tobacco as a sacred, wholesome medicine and there exists a very close connection between tobacco use & Shamanism that has little in common with the western way of tobacco use. It is a very powerful and sacred medicine used for centuries.

What is a rapeh ceremony, and when do people seek this medicine out?

A rapeh ceremony is an opportunity to connect to yourself and open your heart. Because of rapeh´s  ability to increase your connection to your inner self and your heart, crown chakra,  it aids in any transformational shift you are working towards, whether you are looking to deepen your understanding of who you are, release old patterns and traumas, or move into a more self-confident space. Whatever your path, the intention is yours to set, and the rapeh  allows you to the insight and awareness to move towards that goal.
In a sacred and intimate space, the people that attend always surprise themselves at how they are able to open up to strangers, especially when they start to realize they we are all a mirror for each other, all just human beings with the same fears and sufferings, the same hopes and dreams. The dance help to connect with the body, during which the ceremony activates within the body and the heart, allowing a truly transformative and ecstatic process to unfold.

Rapeh and Indigenous Communities

Indigenous tribes use tobacco in ceremonies, to predict good weather, fishing, or harvest, and for spiritual (e.g. vision quest, trance etc) and curing purposes, but rarely for smoking. The use of tobacco by indigenous tribes in South America, such as the Muiscas in Colombia, Kaxinawá, Nunu, Yawanawá, and Katukina, is profoundly entrenched in their culture, and has been employed at least since the Old civilizations for rituals, medicinal purposes. There is another post on the benefits of the other Rapé medicines from these other tribes.

And the emotional impact?

Due to the euphoria inducing ingredients, the emotional impact can be profound. Everything feels heightened within the physical and emotional body, including your awareness to your deepest sense of self and to your heart. The experience of love and empathy, particularly for yourself, can literally feel as if your heart is opening like a flower. With this, the body can become flooded with the many emotions stored in the heart, some of which can be painful. It is not always an easy experience, and I have seen many tears shed as people peel away old layers of hurt. But as the medicine facilitates a deep sense of self-love, tears are always followed by smiles of deep gratitude. In other moments, the sheer ecstasy felt from themedicine can be described as nothing other than a divine experience.

The workshop are open to all those over the age of 18 irrespective of sexual orientation, religion or spiritual practice, gender etc & is an alcohol & drug free event.

I will be offering two servings of Hapéh; and you will be asked if you want a soft, medium or strong does. The doses and medicine will be explained further on the day of the ceremony, and will be held as a sacred prayer for your healing.
I will open the space with a group circle to set our individual intentions and invite you to come with a prayer for the medicine. I will then administer the first serving of Hapéh individually as we all sit and hold space in sacred silence while in meditation to help with the process.
I will hold your intention in mind and use incense to help your process.
I will offer a session of Breath Work to help and release, to then serve the second round of ancestral medicine before closing the space.

Energy work and hands-on healing may be needed, with your permission, but it is my intention to allow the medicine to do its work as much as possible without our intervention.

BENEFITS

The calcification of the pineal gland can easily be tested by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that show the degree of calcium phosphate on the gland. Furthermore, even normal aging has been associated with pineal gland calcification and decreased melatonin production (Kunz et al. 1999), whereas children rarely show calcified pineal glands. Moreover, it is suggested that our polluted water, which is often filled with hormones and residues of pesticides, as well as food additives, excess sugar and sweeteners, can lead to calcification of the pineal gland.

Pineal gland calcification has also been shown to be associated with decreased melatonin levels and a high risk for ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage (bleeding), and with breast cancer (Kitkhuandee et al. 2014; Cohen et al. 1978). This risk for stroke was still higher when the patients were also affected by high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol/triglycerides (Kitkhuandee et al. 2014).

ADMINISTRATION

There are three different ways to blow rapéh:

Short and strong: to wake up and get present,  -Long and strong: to clean the mind and spirit, -Long, starting soft, and strong at the end: for meditation, entering into a trance, ceremonial use

To have an intention,  asking the medicine to help clarity,  cleansing your thoughts and allowing the new things to come, .
